FORMER Burnley midfielder Brian Flynn has been appointed as Wales' caretaker manager for their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland next month.
Flynn, who had two spells with Burnley as a player and still lives in the area, takes charge after the departure of John Toshack last week.
The 54-year-old is Wales' under 21 boss after previous management roles with Wrexham and Swansea City.
Flynn said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed working with John Toshack in the Wales set-up and feel that we have made great strides to establishing a side for the future.
"I would like to pay tribute to the work that John has done and the faith that he has shown in me and my judgement."
