ACCRINGTON Stanley may host a match in Paul Mullin’s honour at the end of the season as part of their former striker’s testimonial year.
Mullin is Stanley’s all-time leading goalscorer and kicks off his testimonial with a golf day and gala dinner at Mytton Fold on September 15.
The 36-year-old joined Morecambe last season as Stanley attempted to cut their wage bill but the striker is still revered at the Crown Ground and was even a loan target for the Reds in recent weeks.
“He has been a great servant for the club so we’d like to help him with his testimonial,” said chief executive Rob Heys.
“A match could be at the end of the season and I’m sure Paul will want to get a decent side to play against.”
