BURNLEY have progressed to the third round of the Carling Cup after coming back from behind to see off the challenge of Morecambe in an all-Lancashire tie.
Chris Eagles cancelled out Phil Jevons' early strike for the League Two side, before a penalty from Steven Thompson and Kevin McDonald's late strike put some gloss on the victory.
Clarets boss Brian Laws rang the changes, handing goalkeeper Lee Grant his debut, while other starters Richard Eckersley, Jay Rodriguez, Brian Easton and Jack Cork were among those given a chance to shine at the Globe Arena.
However, it was the Shrimps that opened the scoring on 12 minutes through a low strike from Jevons.
But Burnley levelled on the half-hour when Eagles pounced to score.
Eagles was fouled in the second period, with Thompson scoring from the penalty spot.
And the Clarets wrapped up victory with McDonald's 83rd minute strike.
