RIGHT, it’s the mid-way point of the season and we are getting a fair idea of who is going to come where in the all-important table.
No, I am not talking about the Lancashire League and Ribblesdale League tables, I am more concerned with the Matt Donlan tea room table.
And 2010 is proving to be a vintage race with clubs across the area upping the ante as they chase the non-existent prize.
There are few things better than a cricket tea room with a variety of cakes and sandwiches to die for.
While I’m not going to give too much away at this stage of the season, Enfield are getting a deserved mention for the feasts available from the Dill Hall Lane tea room.
I have eaten wonderful butties this season around the grounds – but the pie, peas and gravy on Sunday were the best for years.
And I even sneaked in a cheeky tongue salad sandwich after that.
It’s now up to the rest to beat off the Enfield challenge for the finest food.
