FORMER Burnley boss Owen Coyle is weighing up another Turf Moor raid – with Tyrone Mears firmly in his sights.

But any move for the full-back, who Coyle brought to Burnley from Derby, is dependent on Bolton selling Gary Cahill.

Manchester United are still keen on the former Clarets defender, and are reportedly set to offer up to £15m.

That would give Coyle a huge transfer kitty, and Mears would be on his shopping list.

Burnley don’t need to sell any of their players, and will resist any moves for Mears, who still has two years to run on his contract.

Clarets fans saw club favourite Robbie Blake join up with Coyle last week after turning down the offer of a new one-year contract.

Another Burnley player, Chris Eagles, is also on the wanted list of a Premier League side.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway reportedly wants to bring in the winger on a loan deal.

Burnley manager Brian Laws, though, is unlikely to entertain that deal as he looks to build a squad capable of bouncing right back to the Premier League.

Laws brought in Preston winger Ross Wallace on Friday, but still sees Eagles as a vital member of his squad.

Laws said: “I’ve been delighted with everybody's response from who we’ve kept and I don’t foresee anybody moving unless somebody comes out with a remarkable offer.

“That's when I might have a problem, but there are no problems at the moment."
