A Clarets mad couple who named their son Robbie Blake said they were ‘gutted’ by the striker’s decision to join Bolton Wanderers.

The 34-year-old’s stunning volley against Manchester United last August – Burnley’s first ever Premier League goal – compelled Adi Moore, 24, and Leanne Lambshead, 26, to name their second child Robbie-Blake Moore.

Speaking after learning of Blake’s controversial move to join former Clarets boss Owen Coyle, Adi said he was very disappointed.

But he ruled out any drastic action such as changing the tot’s name by deed poll.

Adi, a barman at the Kettledrum Inn, Red Lees Road, Cliviger, said: “Blake’s still a legend and one of my favourite players in a Burnley shirt, but I’ll definitely be booing him next season.

“I hope we get Bolton in the cup, so he has to come back to the Turf.

"He could have gone anywhere except for there with Coyle.”

Little Robbie-Blake, who turns one in two months, lives with his mum, dad and older brother Bret-Taylor, who is named after former WWF wrestler Bret the Hitman Hart, in Nairne Street, Burnley.

According to proud dad Adi, the boisterous nipper is already showing signs of following in his namesake’s footsteps.

He said: “He’s keeping us up and keeps nicking the football off his brother, so we’ll have to wait and see.”

Blake is the first of Coyle’s old charges to make the switch to the Reebok Stadium since the Scot quit Turf Moor in January.

He had been offered the chance to extend his second spell with the Clarets at the end of his three-year contract, but turned it down because he was disappointed with the terms of an incentive-based deal.
