Queen Elizabeth's Gram-mar School’s junior cricket team have been busy on the field this week.
The team competed in the Lancashire finals of the ESCA Under 11s Primary Hardball competition, where they overcame St Christopher’s Primary School from Liverpool in the semi-final before going down to Merchant Taylor’s Junior School, Crosby, in the final.
They then travelled to Fleetwood, where they beat Rossall School to reach the semi-finals of the AJIS (Association of Junior Independent Schools) North West Cup - with captain Tom Lawson and wicket-keeper Tom Southern compiling a big partnership to see the team to victory after a shaky start to their innings. They are due to play Liverpool College in the semi-finals.
The team included Luke Thompson, Harry Newman, Hashim Ali, Tom Lawson, Wesley Machie Will Parkinson, Kristian McInery, Nathaniel Cunningham, Tom Southern, Daniel Rae and Rizwan Sulaman.
