THE sting was taken out of Blackburn Rovers’ pre-season training on Tuesday after an afternoon session was disrupted by a giant wasps’ nest.
Sam Allardyce’s squad were made to hastily leave the training field by a swarm of angry wasps and had to resume their work elsewhere after the insects caused chaos.
After the players were moved on to another pitch for their own safety, pest control were called to remove the nest. Harvey Environmental from Colne declined to comment due to customer confidentiality.
It is just a shame Rob-bee Savage is no longer at Ewood Park, he would have felt at home.
