Frank Lampard wants to carry on playing for England but knows there will be much debate about the future after the World Cup exit at the hands of Germany.
Lampard will be 36 by the time of the next World Cup in Brazil and the likes of Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Emile Heskey are already over 30.
But the Chelsea midfielder has no intention of quitting inter-national football.
He said: “I want to carry on with England. I think there will be a lot of talking, not just about me.
“It’s important players go away and don’t listen to it and concentrate on our jobs now.
“The talk is great for the people who are involved in that sort of thing but it doesn’t actually make any difference.
“Only one team wins the World Cup and the rest go home at some stage and don’t win it so the talking is by the by.
“We’ll have to come back and try and perform.”
