THE golden generation have once again proved themselves to be frauds. It's time to admit we just aren't as good as we believe.
How many more failures at major tournaments is it going to take for us loyal England fans to wake up and smell the coffee. Our so-called stars are average.
It isn't the players or Fabio Capello we should be feeling sorry for either today, it is ourselves after again being fooled into believing.
Look at the talent on show in South Africa and our players aren't even on the same planet.
The only way we were going to win the ttrophy was by showing that old-fashioned English spirit. English lions? More like kittens.
Messrs John Terry & co could learn a lot in that respect from the likes of Ryan Nelsen. He showed what desire and passion could achieve.
Ah well, there is always Brazil in four years time.
