CONFIDENT Nelson made it three wins from three in the Lancashire League Twenty20 competition – and can start planning for another semi-final.
Colin Pemberton’s men, last season’s beaten finalists, hold all the aces in Group C after a third successive win and their latest success came at the expense of near neighbours Colne at Seedhill.
Stuart Lemon crashed 54 from just 46 balls and professional Burton de Wett also chipped in with 32.
Tom Lord (30 not out) and Neil Thompson (29) also made good runs as Nelson posted 157-4.
Ex-Nelson man Sam Tillotson hit 56 for Colne and Anwar Ali teed off for 44 – but the Horsfielders could only make 141-6.
Todmorden beat Lowerhouse by six wickets with eight overs to spare to keep their tournament alive.
It was a stroll for Simon Newbitt’s men as they skittled Lowerhouse for 78.
Jon Fielding hit seven fours and seven sixes in a blistering 89 as Ramsbottom piled up 214-6 against Bacup – and when Bacup were 9-4 and 20-6, their game was as good as up.
Impressive Church beat East Lancs at West End to put themselves level with inactive Accrington at the top of Group A while Rishton had a good night as they walloped Enfield.
Pro Andrea Agathagelou powered his way to 77 not out from just 49 balls with six sixes and Tiarnan Hamill made 40 as Rishton breezed past Enfield’s 128 all out.
There was disappointment for Edenfield as they lost at Rawtenstall in Group B, which is the tightest of the lot.
Edenfield had stunned both Ramsbottom and Haslingden – but Rawtenstall put them to the sword as professional Naved Arif made 91 out of 210-5.
That was too much for Edenfield, who were 166-9 at the close.
