ACCRINGTON Stanley will face another transfer embargo if they fail to lodge their annual accounts on time this year, according to new Football League rules introduced this week.

Stanley were fined after filing their accounts late in each of the last two years, but fresh regulations have now been voted in at the Football League’s annual meeting in Malta.

All clubs must now lodge their accounts with the Football League at the same time as with Companies House, and a failure to do so will result in a transfer embargo.

Stanley were placed under an embargo during the 2009/10 season after falling behind on their PAYE payments – a rule introduced at last summer’s Football League meeting.
