SUB-pro Brenton Parchment blew leaders Haslingden away as East Lancs made it seven wins on the spin to shoot to the top of the Lancashire League table on a soggy Sunday.
The ex-West Indian Test man, who was professional at Haslingden’s arch rivals Ramsbottom last season, hit 58 and David Pearson made 51 as East Lancs posted 226-9 on a rain affected day at Bentgate.
Parchment then took 8-58 from 16.5 overs as an under strength Haslingden were 149 all out.
And Ramsbottom’s shock loss to Burnley at Turf Moor saw Mark Bolton’s men hit the top of the table after nine games.
