LEADERS Baxenden strengthened their position at the summit of the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League as they beat Edenfield on Saturday.

Raheel Majeed, who hit a ton for Edenfield in a Twenty20 win over Ramsbottom on Friday night, reached three figures again with 106 out of the home side’s 218.

But Baxenden got home thanks largely to Babar Naeem, who made 70.

That results allowed Baxenden to move eight points clear as they beat Edenfield.
