Steven Nzonzi: A
A remarkable season for the French youngster as he picked up the club’s player of the season award in his first taste of the Premier League.
Has started more games than any other outfield player and has stepped up to the plate with several more senior colleagues struggling with injury.
Highlight: A wonder goal in the 3-2 defeat against Everton sealed a superb debut season at Ewood Park.
Prem League record: P 33 (0), W 10, D 11, L 12, F 35, A 47, pts 41, Goals 2.
David Dunn: A
Dunny has enjoyed a tremendous season and thoroughly deserved the new deal he signed midway through the season.
Last season’s injury-plagued campaign would have had some worried but Dunn has proved he is far from finished – hitting 10 goals from a midfield role.
He has still had his injury problems but an in-form Dunn is something most Premier League sides out of the top eight would kill for.
Highlight: Dunn’s winning contributions to ensure Rovers remain East Lancashire top dogs. Scored a vital equaliser in the Ewood Park win over Burnley and then scored the winner at Turf Moor.
Prem League record: P 21 (including 3 sub appearances) W 10, D 6, L 7, F 24, A 29 Pts 36, Goals 8.
Morten Gamst Pedersen: B
Rovers’ Marmite player this season. Has received his fair share of jeers from the stands but has proved to be one of the club’s most creative players.
The form of Pedersen a few years back may have gone, but since moving into central midfield he has enjoyed something of a renaissance.
Highlight: His stunning volley against Wigan in January to help Rovers to a 2-1 win.
Prem League record: P 32 (5), W 11, D 9, L 13, F 28, A 41, Pts 42, Goals 3.
El-Hadji Diouf: B-
Attracts his fair share off the field but no one can doubt his commitment to Rovers’ cause on the field this season.
At times he has struggled to make an impact but his work rate and ability to keep the ball has been important at times. Fits in well with Allardyce’s preferred system.
Highlight: His headed equaliser at home against Chelsea in March as Rovers drew 1-1 with the eventual Premier League champions.
Prem League record: P 26 (2), W 10, D 7, L 9, F 24, A 33, Pts 37 Goals 3.
Keith Andrews: C+
Has struggled to win the supporters round but has more than justified his Premier League place this season.
Will never steal headlines but is rarely injured and has finished the season strongly.
Highlight: Put in a very good performance to help Rovers to a win over Arsenal at Ewood Park.
Prem League record: P 31 (10), W 10, D 9, L 13, F 28, A 39, Pts 39, Goals 1.
Brett Emerton: C+
Has had to be content with being a squad player due to an injury hampered season. Missing the first few weeks left him playing catch up.
His versatility has been important though and his energy levels are always high. Will be disappointed by his personal contribution though.
Highlight: Helping Australia qualify for the World Cup in impressive fashion.
Prem League record: P 23 (6), W 11, D 6, L 7, F 15, A 24, Pts 39, Goals 0.
Junior Hoilett: C
Was expected to be Rovers’ brightest youngster this season but hasn’t quite made the breakthrough expected of him.
He has shown plenty of signs of promise though and, with a major new deal under his belt, will be expected to fulfil his potential next season.
Highlight: Scoring from the penalty spot in Rovers’ thrilling Carling Cup quarter final shoot-out win against Chelsea. Played his part in a memorable evening.
Prem League record: P 22 (15), W 6, D 8, L 9, F 10, A 15, Pts 26 Goals 6.
Vince Grella: C
The Australian has had another season hugely disrupted by injury as his Premier League frustration continued.
But, when the midfielder has played he has more than proved his worth to the team and could become the surprise player to watch out for next season.
Highlight: A masterful midfield display to help Rovers over a memorable home victory against Arsenal at the start of this month. Showed what he is capable of.
Prem League record: P 15 (5), W 5, D 6, L 4, F 8, A 11, Pts 21.
