IT would be great if one of the Liverpool players decided to help us out on Sunday by doing a Cruyff turn into the back of his own net again.
Sadly Djimi Traore doesn’t play for Liverpool any more.
Traore came up with a great Cruyff turn when Liverpool last came to Turf Moor in 2005 for an FA Cup tie. Unfortunately for him it was into his own net and we won 1-0!
Maybe someone like Emiliano Insua or Glen Johnson could do it this time, but I can't see any British players like Johnson trying something like that in their own six-yard box.
That was a good night in 2005, and we have shown over the last few years that we can do it against the top teams in the cup competitions.
We have just got to go at Liverpool on Sunday like we did against Manchester United and Everton at the start of the season, and we need the crowd to get behind the team and be the 12th man.
We need to give ourselves a chance, too, and not concede any silly goals.
If we can keep it at 0-0, hopefully we can nick one. That's the way we’ve got to look at it.
Obviously Fernando Torres won't be playing, which will be a help.
We’ve got nothing to lose now but I fear that after our defeat at Sunderland on Saturday our chances of staying up may have gone.
We need two wins and I struggle to see how we're going to get them from our last three games.
That Wigan win against Arsenal might have been the final nail in the coffin.
But Hull, West Ham and Fulham have all managed to get out of relegation trouble when it looked like they wouldn’t in recent seasons, so until you are relegated you never know.
You've got to keep going and fight to the end, and let’s just try to take it to that last day of the season.
Steven Thompson did well at Sunderland when he came on and got our goal. It’s just a shame for him that both of his goals in the Premier League have come in defeats.
He’s a big lad and can offer us something up front, so Sunday might be the right time to give him a chance from the start.
