Steve Cotterill today confirmed that he is NOT interested in joining Portsmouth.

Reports in national newspapers have linked the Burnley boss with the number two job at Fratton Park.

Harry Redknapp is looking for an assistant after Kevin Bond decided to join the coaching staff at Newcastle.

Redknapp and Cotterill, who recently signed a four-year contract at Turf Moor, are long-time friends, and meet socially.

But Cotterill today said: "I will not be going to Portsmouth as number two to Harry Redknapp.

"He is a good friend of mine but that's as far as it goes."

Jamie Redknapp was today offered the job, which will mean him working alongside his dad.
