CLARETS striker Kyle Lafferty admits he's still living the American dream after earning his first senior international cap for Northern Ireland.
The 18-year-old hitman played against Uruguay at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey last weekend in the first leg of Northern Ireland's summer tour of the United States.
And Lafferty, who scored his first goal for Burnley against Luton on the final day of the season, was hoping to get number two when Lawrie Sanchez's side face Romania at Chicago's Soldier Field.
But Lafferty admitted it was a dream come true to make his international debut at such a young age.
He said: "I've really enjoyed being part of the squad out here. It's been a great experience and I would so love to be involved again.
"It's an old clich but this tour has so far been a dream come true for me. Making my debut at the Giants Stadium was unreal.
"I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and my family will be so proud back home.
"I'm 18 years old and didn't expect a call up to the senior squad so early in my career. I thought I'd have to wait years."
Lafferty's new Burnley team-mate Steve Jones and defender Michael Duff are also in America and Jones said he loved playing in the 80,000-seater Giants Stadium - which is home to Gridiron teams the New York Giants and New York Jets and Major League Soccer side MetroStars.
And now Jones is looking forward to playing at the home of the Chicago Bears, a stadium that holds over 61,000 people.
He said: "The experience of having played in the Giants Stadium is something that's just going to live with you forever.
"Never would I have thought that I would get a chance to play against these two teams," said Jones. "I really enjoyed the match against Uruguay at the Giants Stadium and I'm looking forward to Friday's game against Romania at the Soldier Field Stadium."
Former Chelsea and Juventus striker Adrian Mutu is expected to lead out Romania.
