BURNLEY'S assistant boss Dave Kevan reckons the Clarets have improved over the last 12 months.
Although Burnley's final league position was the same as last year, Steve Cotterill's right-hand man believes Burnley are a better side than this time last year.
But he believes they need to be more deadly in front of goal to make them a real force next season.
He said: "It's was a tiring and hard season but that's no different to any other club. We feel as though we've made progress, possibly not in terms of league position or terms of points.
"But generally we feel as though our football's come on a little bit and we had more of the game in most of our matches, which is very pleasing.
"The one criticism is we made chances but we didn't take them.
"The season before, we felt that we had to be absolutely on our mettle to defend, which was no different this year, but I feel as though we've been able to create opportunities and able to have longer spells in the game in terms of attacking."
He added: "If you're keeping a clean sheet it gives you a chance to win the game but we need to be more ruthless and be more clinical with our finishing.
"That's really something we have to be aware of. Whilst we're delighted that we're creating chances, the key is now that we've got to start taking some of them."
