PROMOTION hero Rob Elliot says his future with Accrington Stanley is uncertain.
It was hoped the Charlton Athletic goalkeeper would have a second loan spell with the Reds next term this time for a full season.
However, Stanley boss John Coleman must play a waiting game before any deal can be struck, with Charlton in the process of appointing a new manager after Alan Curbishley stepped down at the end of last season.
Given the opportunity, though, Elliot admits he would love another spell with the Conference champions, after helping them regain their place back in the Football League.
"I would be very keen to go back there and I hope they would be keen to have me," said Elliot, who, along with fellow loan Stanley stopper and Charlton team-mate Darren Randolph, has just signed a new contract with the Addicks until 2008.
"I can't put into words how great a feeling it was being at Accrington and the experience of playing there, with fantastic people, fantastic players, and just topping it off by winning the league was unbelievable.
"It got my hunger for first team football right up.
"Playing in a team as good as that, it really makes you want to go on and achieve as much as you can in the first team.
"It would be ideal to go back to Accrington, where everything went so well for me last year.
"There have been a few chats between the clubs. Obviously with Curbs leaving it's made it a bit harder but the background staff at Charlton are still there and they see it as a possibility.
"I've spoken to John Coleman and I'm happy to go back but it's just sorting it out when a new manager comes in whether he is happy for me to do that or whether he has other plans for me. I don't know.
"It's a bit out of my hands at the moment but if the opportunity (to return to Stanley) came I'd love it."
He added: "I don't want anyone to think that I was at Accrington just to pass the time because I did enjoy it.
"It was a great challenge and I would love to go back and try to achieve things in the League."
