The early season Clash of the Titans' in the VEKA Ribblesdale League Senior League was a washout - literally.
After warming up for yesterday's much anticipated meeting at the Arbories with victories 24 hours earlier, leaders Padiham and champions Settle were undone by the weather.
Padiham, who piled up an impressive 289-4 in their 78-run success against Ribblesdale Wanderers, got to the wicket again and made 203-6.
But the rain intervened as it did-with one exception - throughout the rest of the league leaving Settle unable to begin their reply.
Pro Kashif Siddique hit 81 and Umar Siddique made 90 in Padiham's daunting total at Church Meadow on Saturday. Wanderers were rarely in the hunt and faded to 211-7.
However, they bounced back yesterday in the only top flight game to finish. Having knocked over Edenfield for just 79, they reached the target for the loss of two wickets.
And such is the unpredictable nature of the competition at the moment that Edenfield defeated Cherry Tree by 56 runs on Saturday, helped by 96 from paid man Baber Naeem.
Alan Kruger made 108 out of Blackburn Northern's 229-5 in 45 overs against Whalley.
But the Station Road side took the points on a faster scoring rate with their 215-6 made in 42 overs.
Thanks to Gyan Pandey and Alan Armer, Great Harwood had no need to resort to the calculators against Earby.
Pandey and Armer were unbeaten on 100 and 52 respectively as Earby's 167-7 was passed for the loss of just three wickets.
The Hornbys - Stuart (85 not out) and Keith (47) - guided Settle to a nine wicket win over Oswaldtwistle while Baxenden and Clitheroe were Saturday's other winners.
