Blackpool Youth 2 Burnley Youth 2 - Burnley won 4-2 after extra time: Supoer sub Alex McDonald's extra time double whammy clinched the Lancashire Youth Cup for Burnley.
The 15-year-old striker showed how bright the future is for the Clarets against an experienced Blackpool side.
And proud youth team coach Terry Pashley hailed his young winners - 11 of whom had been at school earlier in the day.
"I thought the lads were fantastic," he said.
"They never let their heads drop when Blackpool got back into it twice."
Burnley took the lead two minutes before the end of a tight first half, when Dale Underwood latched on to Adam Kay's cross from the left and rifled the ball in at the far post.
Blackpool equalised in the 65th minute but Ali Akbar sensationally hooked the ball in off the underside of the bar from the edge of the box to restore the Clarets' lead a minute later.
Blackpool were reduced to 10 men after Sean Clancy was sent off but scrambled home an equaliser in the 86th mintue.
But the Clarets dominated extra time, and Kay sent substitute McDonald clean through to bend the ball past the keeper on 95 minutes.
Kay and McDonald combined again, with the same end result.
