PLYMOUTH Argyle boss Tony Pulis has hinted he could be interested in taking Clarets striker Gifton Noel-Williams to Home Park.
Pulis took the burly striker from Watford to Stoke when he was in control at the Potters and is known to be a big fan of Noel-Williams - who scored 23 goals in 81 games at the Britannia Stadium.
And after Steve Cotterill placed him on the transfer list, the Pilgrims boss was alerted to his availability.
Noel-Williams is the type of player Pulis will be in the market for.
He likes to play with a targetman and after the departure of striker Mickey Evans, the Burnley man would seem to fit the bill.
Pulis praised Williams' abilities saying: "Gifton has been really unfortunate during his career.
!He has an Arthritic complaint, which is under control with medication at the moment.
"If he didn't have that I think he would be playing in the Premiership now.
"He has got everything in his locker to be playing top flight football and he did exceptionally well for me when I had him at Stoke.
"He and Ade (Akinbiyi) were both free transfers and did really well for me in the past."
Noel-Williams' Burnley career was far less distinguished.
The Clarets number seven scored just twice in 29 appearances before he was eventually loaned out to Brighton.
At the Withdean, Noel-Williams scored twice in seven appearances but it wasn't enough to save the Seagulls from relegation from the Championship.
Brighton boss Mark McGhee has also expressed an interest in taking the Burnley striker, who still has a year to run on his Turf Moor contract, to the south coast but a lot will depend on whether he would be willing to step down a division.
