NINE Manchester City fans were charged with minor offences after their team's 2-0 defeat at Ewood Park, police said today.
Inspector Des Barnes confirmed the supporters were picked up near to Blackburn Rovers' ground after the match yesterday but stressed that overall the day "passed peacefully".
He said: "Nine supporters, all from Manchester City, were arrested near the ground and charged with minor offences ranging from drunkenness to minor public order offences.
"They have been bailed to appear at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
"However, overall things passed off peacefully.
"A group of around 50 Man' City fans did go into the town centre but mixed well with Blackburn Rovers fans before being escorted to the train station just after 8pm."
