TWO members of Accrington Stanley's promotion winning squad will not be joining them in the Football League next season.
Goalkeeper Danny Alcock and midfielder Steve Jagielka have both been released after manager John Coleman decided not to offer them new contracts.
Coleman said: "Both have done a smashing job for me and it is quite amicable with both of them.
"There was a geographical problem with Steve. He was travelling two and a half hours there and back every day and it was killing him really.
"Danny needs a go at being a number one. He needs to play in his own right.
"To the benefit of themselves, more than anything, they are going to have to move on."
Coleman added that defenders Micahel Welch and Leam Richardson were considering offers that had been made to them, while he is continuing to monitor a couple of potential transfer targets.
