STEVE Cotterill is planning to jet off to the World Cup this summer as he looks to build on his squad for next season.
The Burnley boss is targeting some of the smaller nations competing in Germany in the hope of unearthing a promising young talent.
Cotterill has money to spend in the post-season following the sale of Ade Akinbiyi to Sheffield United, but knows every pound will count in his search for new players.
He plans to take in a couple of games in the early stages, where the likes of Costa Rica, the Ivory Coast, Angola and Tunisia will compete against the world's footballing giants.
Cotterill said: "I may work on a couple of games at the World Cup.
"There are a few countries that have not really been tapped into that I would like to take a look at.
"I don't think there's a lot of point in me watching England, but some of the untapped countries, where their games are not going to be so busy, might allow me to go and look at one or two players.
"So there may be a few of those games I take in.
"We just need to get our season out of the way first and sort out a few pre-season games and a few dates for a few different things.
"We already have a few things pencilled in that we have to finalise in the next couple of weeks, but we are pretty much sorted now."
