STEVE Cotterill is urging battle-hardened Burnley to build on the positives following Saturday's stalemate at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Clarets were unfortunate not to earn their first away win since November after creating, but wasting, several gilt-edged chances at Hillsborough.
And Cotterill feels the upturn in fortunes following the recent addition of three players has given the whole squad renewed hope of finishing the campaign strongly.
He said: "Our away form has let us down and I suppose it is another away game without a goal if we are going to look on the negative side of it.
"But we can't create any more chances away from home than we've done without scoring and on another day one of those goes in.
"There have been a lot of negatives of late, but we are three games unbeaten now and I'd rather talk about that.
"A lot has happened to the players this season, physically, mentally and emotionally, and every credit to them for dealing with it and coming out of it."
Burnley now have three of the five remaining games at Turf Moor as they look to improve on last season's 13th place finish.
And with the recent run of six straight defeats now behind them, Cotterill insists everyone is aiming high in the final month.
"Just because we have been on a bad run, don't think we were looking at the bottom three," he insisted.
"There is no need to try and be negative and look down at the bottom. I know it's a habit and when you are on the run we were on, then you do get a little bit nervous.
"But to be fair the last three performances and the new players who have come in have both given the lads a lift.
It has given us a healthy, competitive edge and we are pleased with their efforts."
Cotterill added: "We've only conceded one own goal in three games now and that was in the first minute against Southampton.
"So for 269 minutes we haven't conceded a goal and I'm really pleased about that."
