THE leader of Hyndburn Council has urged residents to get behind Accrington Stanley in their final push for promotion.
Councillor Peter Britcliffe, who travelled on the team bus to watch last Saturday's 4-2 victory at York, called on people to attend the home game against Grays Athletic on Saturday.
He said: "We had a wonderful day and it was in important day in the team's fight for promotion. There was a great atmosphere on the team bus, but thank goodness they play better than they sing.
"I would now urge people to get to the match this Saturday and get behind the team because these are giant steps being made towards promotion.
"There is a tremendous spirit in the team and a desire to win promotion they are doing Accrington proud."
