HAWKS assistant manager Graham Lomax was "over the moon" with his side following successive victories over Sheffield Spartans.
Hawks won both of their English National Ice Hockey League play-off games with Sheffield and sit top of the group after the game between the other two competitors, Whitley Bay and Billingham Bombers, was called off.
Lomax could not hide his delight following Hawks 3-0 win up at Sheffield and their 4-2 victory at the Arena.
"They were truly fantastic results and the performances merited the outcomes. The lads were brilliant. We have looked a bit flat in recent weeks and I told them it wasn't good enough, However, I have nothing but praise for them now.
"We had one of those days on Saturday where everyone clicked and we played at our very best. We repeated that on Sunday so all credit to the team. We had a very short bench, especially on Saturday so it was important everyone played well.
"Once again our young lads Ollie Lomax and Craig Rogers played out of their skins and both won the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award on Saturday and Sunday respectively. We also played defence man Wayne Slater in a forward role and he was fantastic."
Scott Barnett, Ricci Hulme and Lomax wrapped up an impressive 0-3 win on Saturday, while Adam Fuller, Barnett, Slater and Lance Derbyshire dealt the blows to Sheffield on Sunday.
