Burnley striker Gifton Noel-Williams, 26, has joined Brighton's relegation scrap for a reported five-figure loan fee, with the promise of a long-term deal should he impress in the closing weeks of the season.
Albion boss Mark McGhee said: "We're not only giving Noel the opportunity to help us out of a hole.
"We're also giving him the opportunity to be here in the longer term, so there is something in it for both of us."
Noel Williams joined Burnley from Stoke on a two-year deal last summer, netting two goals this season in 17 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Championship.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill added: "We've let Gifton go to Brighton and hopefully he'll go down there and do well."
