ANDY Todd has thanked Accrington Stanley for relaunching his football career.
The 26-year-old has scored two goals in the last two games since joining the Reds on loan from Burton in the January transfer window.
But he admits he is just happy to have the chance to play in the first team after falling out of favour with Burton boss Nigel Clough.
"I can't believe it. I've gone from sitting on the bench at a mid-table club to playing regularly at the top of the Conference," he said.
"It's a bit of a shock but obviously I came here for one reason to play and that's why I'm giving it my best shot. And I'm grateful to Accrington for giving me the opportunity and the chance to put my kit on and get out there.
"Over the last two games with the wins and my couple of goals I'm showing people what I can do and what I'm capable of.
"Regardless of the way they are scored it's just a case of making sure that goals are going in and we're defending, winning games and getting points and just kicking on towards getting more points to make sure no-one can catch us."
Todd is eager to try to add to his scoring tally, but a clause in his contract will prevent him from doing that against Burton on Saturday.
"There's a clause they've put in that I can't play against them which I think they did before I signed the deal," he said.
"I'm on a bit of a roll and it would be nice if I could get three in three against the side who I'm on loan from.
"But I'll still be be spurring the lads on.
"Obviously we need to kick on now and keep getting the points in the bag.
"The more points we can get now the easier it will hopefully be towards the end of the season."
