FORMER Accrington Stanley midfielder Ged Brannan dreams of stopping Stanley's promotion bandwagon in its tracks tonight.
Brannan, 34, is enjoying a new lease of life at Morecambe after being squeezed out by Reds boss John Coleman last year.
And ahead of his first return to the Interlink Express Stadium for tonight's televised clash between the two sides occupying first and second place in the Conference table, Brannan (pictured left) is desperate to strike and keep the title race bubbling away.
He said: "I was a bit disappointed how my time at Accrington ended and I did think about retiring for a while. But circumstances change very quickly in football and I'm loving the new challenge at Christie Park.
"I got a new lease of life when Jim Harvey signed me because I'd fallen out of love with football at Accrington, but now I would love to go back and score the Morecambe winner.
"If we lose to Stanley, then they will have wrapped up the title, but if we can get a win then the title race is still alive.
"Tonight is our biggest game of the season and we don't intend to let ourselves down."
