CRAIG Bellamy is hoping to end his injury hell by making a timely return to action at Everton on Saturday.

The injury-plagued striker is now back in training again after recovering from a niggly hamstring problem, and the 26-year-old is hoping to get the green light to face the Toffees at the weekend.

Mark Hughes' £4 million signing from Newcastle has started just nine Premiership games for Rovers so far this season after being laid low by a series of different injury problems.

But, with Rovers closing in on a top-six finish, Bellamy is hoping he can now stay injury free until the end of the campaign, and his return to action will certainly come as a massive boost to Hughes, who has set his players the target of securing European football.

Referring to his latest comeback attempt, Bellamy said: "I've had to be a little bit more patient this time because the last time I got injured, I pushed myself a little bit too quickly.

"Instead of listening to the physios, I rushed my recovery because they were such good games and I wanted to play.

"But this time I've listened to the physios' advice and, hopefully, this will be the end of it for the season."

Bellamy has been plagued by various different problems since he joined Rovers last summer, but he can now finally see a light at the end of the tunnel after what has been a traumatic first seven months at his new club.

He added: "They've all been little niggles. I've been used to having operations in the past and then working my way back to fitness, but these have all been little niggly strains.

"I think a lot of it is to do with the fact I missed a lot of pre-season, which doesn't help, because you are always playing catch up after that.

"But when I have been playing, things have probably gone as well as I could have expected and I feel there is a lot more to come from me.

"I'm just looking forward to being injury free from now until the end of the season."
