Steve Cotterill has revealed that Burnley defender Wayne Thomas recently underwent knee surgery to remove a piece of troublesome cartilage.
The former Stoke stopper recently made a miraculous recovery from a knee cruciate injury to return to action six months ahead of schedule.
Cotterill said: "Wayne has had an operation to remove a piece of cartilage that was causing him some grief.
"He wasn't close enough to feature at the weekend, so we'll just have to wait and see how he is."
