NEW acting chairman Carl Garner says Clitheroe are ready to put their problems behind them - and shoot for promotion.
It might seem out of the Blues' reach this season given that they have slumped to 15th in UniBond Division One after one win in nine league games But after inheriting a club that was close to running out of money just over two weeks ago, the turnaround that Garner has overseen has filled him with confidence for the immediate future.
Garner said: "We are one of the bigger, stronger UniBond clubs in terms of gate and we don't want to compromise and say to people well we just want to run it and survive'.
"Our goal is to certainly get in the UniBond Premier Division and I don't see any reason why we can't realistically do that.
"At the moment we are short of capital but that's all we're short of. We're not short of energy, ideas or people that are willing to work hard and support."
Garner has been overwhelmed by donations from supporters and is trying to get other non-league clubs involved in helping their revival.
His drive to generate revenue is so intense he wants to sell the name of the Shawbridge ground in favour of it being named after a sponsor.
Anyone interested in helping the club can contact Carl on 07791 887850.
On the field, boss Tommy Lawson has made a trio of signings from Leigh RMI for tomorrow's home UniBond One game with Gresley Rovers - left midfielder Ian Taylor, right midfielder Adam Girdlestone and centre half Paul Lewis.
l ROSSENDALE United go to Mossley and Chorley to Ossett Albion in UniBond Division One tomorrow.
