WHAT a great result Rovers had against Manchester United on Wednesday night.
It's the first time we've done the domestic double over United in donkey's years and we really deserved it.
It was a great game of football to boot. At 4-1, Rovers were cruising but you would always expect a team like United to come back at you and that's exactly what they did.
But under Mark Hughes, Rovers are going from strength to strength and it's got to be said he's doing a fantastic job. He probably didn't expect us to be that far up the league this soon but he'll be more than happy with where the team are.
I have to say though, I was disappointed with what Sir Alex Ferguson said, accusing Rovers of using "bully boy" tactics.
He's always looking for excuses. Watching it on the TV it looked like a proper game of English football and they dished out just as much as we did.
Rovers played really well and I think Fergie should just worry about his own team.
The hero of the night was obviously David Bentley with his hat-trick abd I think he's going to be an excellent signing for us.
Before the game, a lot of people were wondering where the goals were going to come from and then all of a sudden he popped up with a hat-trick!
From what I've seen of him he's a very skilful, young, English player and he's just the kind of player we need.
The other two signings Rovers made, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Martin Olsson, I don't know much about but you have to trust the manager's judgement because of his track record.
Bentley's run of goals, four in his last two games, will give the manager a real headache if Craig Bellamy is fit and I would expect Shefki Kuqi to be the one to drop out if the Welshman is available for selection.
But whoever plays, they need to make sure they're firing on all cylinders when they face my old side West Brom tomorrow.
Over the years, Rovers have played well against the likes of Manchester United but then struggled against teams lower down the league.
But they really need to get the three points to keep up their challenge for a European place.
