A teenage Preston boxer took a national title less than a year after he broke both his arms.
Mark Killeen, 16, of Birkett Drive, Moor Nook, Preston, fought off tough competition on December 17, to be crowned winner at the National Golden Belt Final held at Everton Park Sports Centre, Liverpool.
The Tulketh Community Sports College pupil, who is a member of Larches and Savick Amateur Boxing Club broke his arms in March when he fell from a rope swing.
The Liverpool bout was the first match since returning from injury.
Mark said: "Winning was great. I couldn't train between March and August because of my arms. But I found it easy getting back into it and was confident I would win."
Joe Kilshaw, head coach and chairman at the Preston club, said: "We're very proud of Mark. He has done really well particularly because of his injury."
