IN-FORM striker Craig Bellamy today roared bring on United' as Blackburn Rovers gear up for Wednesday night's Carling Cup clash with Sir Alex Ferguson's stuttering Reds.

Bellamy was inspirational once again at the weekend, scoring twice in a thumping 3-0 win over QPR as Rovers racked up a fifth straight victory to book their place in today's FA Cup fourth round draw.

That winning sequence is Rovers' best run of form since they won the Premier League title in 1995 and with Bellamy in irresistible form up front, the Welsh international and his Blackburn team-mates genuinely believe they can make that six out of six at Manchester United's expense.

"I'm really looking forward to the United game now," said the 26-year-old, who took his tally for the season to nine with his brace at the weekend.

"We're not only getting results, but we're also playing well and I think we've got a real chance.

"I've played in the Scottish FA Cup final and was part of the Newcastle team which reached the UEFA Cup semi finals two seasons ago.

"But I've never played in an English final before.

"The two games over United give me an opportunity to address that."

Bellamy is clearly enjoying his football again following a turbulent spell on Tyneside under Graeme Souness.

This time last year, he was involved in a very public spat with his former boss, which ultimately led to him leaving the Magpies in the summer for a knock-down £4 million fee.

However, Bellamy has since recovered his appetite for the game under the shrewd leadership of Mark Hughes and, despite several injury problems, he is now playing some of the best football of his career.

He was certainly too hot for Queen's Park Rangers to handle at the weekend, scoring two sublime goals to guarantee Rovers' safe passage through to round four.

Bellamy has now bagged an impressive nine goals in 17 appearances for Rovers since his summer move from St James' and he appears to be loving life at Ewood Park.

"Moving to Blackburn is proving to be a very good decision for me," said the Welshman.

"We're eighth in the Premiership, we're into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup, and safely through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

"I also seem to be doing ok for goals at the moment.

"I haven't set myself any targets but there's still a long way to go this season and, hopefully, I can get well into double figures."

While Rovers made short work of QPR at the weekend, an under-strength United side were held to a 0-0 draw by non-league Burton Albion yesterday, which was hardly ideal preparation for Wednesday night's Carling Cup semi-final first leg.

Burton keeper Saul Deeney, who once had a spell on trial with Rovers, was the hero for Albion, who managed to nullify the threat of Wayne Rooney.

Rovers' Under 18s beat Everton 2-0 at the weekend thanks to goals from Stephen Thomson and Raffaele De Vita.
