IF we play like we did against Chelsea I think we can get something at home to West Ham on Saturday.
That will be a very important game and we do need points from it.
It is a must-win game but we’ve been good at home this season.
West Ham aren’t a bad side, though, and we haven’t won at home for a while now.
But if we can get two or three up - like West Ham did against us at Upton Park earlier in the season - that would give us a big boost because we’ve got a tough game at Fulham after that on the Tuesday.
Benni McCarthy will probably be making his debut for West Ham and I’m sure he will get some stick because of his Blackburn connections.
I thought Chelsea weren’t at their best on Saturday and it was quite a good performance from Burnley, even though we lost 2-1.
It was a decent display and quite encouraging. If we keep playing like that we’ll do okay.
I didn’t get the chance to say hello to my old team-mate Ray Wilkins in the end but I got a brilliant reception when I did the half-time draw, which was nice.
Even the Chelsea fans were singing my name and I appreciated that.
It was a good atmosphere on Saturday. John Terry did get a bit of stick because of his off-the-field problems, but he’s professional enough to deal with it. You wouldn’t be in this game if you couldn’t.
When you’re playing you do hear the chants but it doesn’t affect players. In some cases it encourages them to play better.
It’s like when David Dunn gets booed by Burnley fans when he’s playing for Blackburn - being a local lad it probably motivates him.
I thought Leon Cort did well against Chelsea. I thought he had a very good debut and his partnership with Clarke Carlisle in central defence looked very good.
For his size you would expect him to win a lot in the air but he put in some good challenges and read the game well.
The defence was something that Brian Laws had looked at and felt he needed to strengthen.
If we can concede less goals, obviously that will really help our chances of staying up.
They’ve signed Danny Fox, too, and although I don’t know a lot about him he must be quite decent if he’s played for Celtic’s first team.
I think full back is one area where we have had a weakness, so hopefully he will help the team.
