A COMMUNITY officer has been employed to promote Bacup Borough Football Club activities in the Valley.
UEFA qualified coach Colin Mason will oversee courses for youngsters across the borough’s schools as part of the role.
The club has never employed anyone in this capacity before.
Club manager Brent Peters said “For all our plans to come to fruition, which all include community participation, it was important that we bring on board a community officer.
“This would be a vastly-experienced person who can deliver the ethos of Bacup Borough Football Club into schools and other youth organisations.
“Colin is a top, well-respected person in this field, who is not just a football coach, but also well qualified to present various sporting, or educational projects, for the non football- related pupil.
“I am really excited by this appointment. Everyone strives for the best and we have certainly got the best in Colin who will receive every help and backing from us”.
