ACCRINGTON Stanley moved to within touching distance of the League Two play-off positions after victory at promotion rivals Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.

Bobby Grant scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute at the New Meadow to give the 10th-placed Reds their sixth win in seven league games, leaving them three points behind Chesterfield in the last play-off spot with three games in hand.

Andy Procter was sent off for a second bookable offence with six minutes remaining but Stanley were able to hold on to claim victory over Shrewsbury, who currently lie sixth in the table.
