BURNLEY have today signed former Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver on a deal until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old left Scottish Premier League side Dundee United at the start of the month and will compete with Brian Jensen, Diego Penny and Jonathan Lund for the keeper's jersey at Turf Moor.

Weaver made his name at Manchester City but has also represented Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.

He is expected to be available for the Clarets' home game against Chelsea on Saturday subject to international clearance.
