BURNLEY fans are being urged to behave themselves at tonight’s crunch match against Bolton Wanderers.
The two teams face each other for the first time since former Burnley manager Owen Coyle took charge at the Reebok two weeks ago.
Police have said they will be keeping an eye on both sets of fans to ensure the game passes off peacefully.
Sgt John Clee, Bolton football liaison officer, said: “We welcome all football supporters and encourage them to enjoy their time at the Reebok Stadium. However, should anyone wish to spoil it for the majority and act in an anti-social or improper manner, they will be dealt with positively, firmly and robustly.”
New Burnley boss Brian Laws said the fans would be vocal, but didn’t expect any trouble.
He said: “They’re good people here. They’re honest, hard-working supporters who give their all to the football club.
“They’re going to be noisy and I don’t expect anything else than them being noisy and right behind the team as they have been all season."
