CHRIS McCann starts his first game after a four-month injury lay-off, coming in at left back for this FA Cup fourth round clash at Reading.
Midfielder McCann has previous experience at full back, albeit limited, and steps in to replace the injured Stephen Jordan, while Christian Kalvenes is absent to attend the birth of his child.
Joey Gudjonsson starts in a five-man midfield, with Steven Thompson named as a lone striker.
Strikers Martin Paterson and Jay Rodriguez, who, like McCann, have also spent four months on the sidelines through injury, return to the bench after coming through a midweek reserve game.
Defender Clarke Carlisle is also named among the substitutes following a thigh problem.
