AS Accrington Stanley prepare to face Premier League Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday, we give you the lowdown on the Reds' record in the competition.
* Stanley have never reached the fourth round since they reformed in 1968, but they did do in 1927, 1937 and 1959 – losing to Chelsea, Manchester City and Portsmouth respectively.
* Stanley have never previously played a competitive home match against Premier League opposition, although they did earn an away tie at Watford in the Carling Cup three seasons ago.
* Stanley are the lowest ranked team left in this season’s FA Cup.
* Stanley have never played Fulham in a competitive game before, although the Londoners visited Accrington for a friendly in 1955.
* Stanley earned £67,500 in prize money for victory in the third round, with a further £90,000 on offer to the winners of Saturday’s match. A replay could be lucrative with the Reds due to receive 50 per cent of any gate receipts.
* Saturday’s game will not be shown live on television but is expected to be featured on the ITV highlights programme, earning the club a much-needed £6,750. Unusually for Stanley, the full match will be shown on delay in Australia.
* Stanley have progressed a round further than Manchester United, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers in this year’s competition.
* Fulham’s record in East Lancashire is not good to say the least – they are without a win in five at Blackburn, and have not won in their last 30 games at Burnley.
