KEITH Andrews admits Blackburn Rovers’ away form has been the biggest let-down of 2009, but sees the next few days as a golden chance to change their fortunes.

Rovers have won just three Premier League away games this year, and drawn just one, with Andrews determined to improve their record in tomorrow’s trip to his former club Hull City and Tuesday night’s St Andrews’ encounter.

The Irish midfielder scored Rovers’ second goal in last season’s crucial victory at the KC Stadium, a rare away win in 2009, and would relish a repeat as he targets a surge up the Premier League table.

He said: “We are going there full of confidence. We are fully confident we can get the three points like we did last season.

“When you put all of 2009 together, it has been a decent year on paper.

"It has been split into two different seasons but this is a game we are looking to win because we are not happy with our away form.

“That is one thing from this calendar year we are not happy about and are looking to put right.

"We took a step towards that at Bolton but went back again against Fulham.

“These are the points we need if we want to get into the top half of the table.

"Our bread and butter are the teams below the top six and we feel the next two games coming up away from home are games we can win.”
