OWEN Coyle says Burnley could be just two weeks away from agreeing a fee for summer signing David Edgar.

Although the 22-year-old was a free agent, after his Newcastle United contract ran out at the end of last season, the Canadian's age commands fee be paid under the Bosman ruling.

The two clubs have been in negoatiation for months but are now closing in on a deal.

Edgar’s only start was in the Carling Cup against Hartlepool.

He has yet to be named in a Premier League squad.
