BURNLEY chairman Barry Kilby has reiterated his desire for the club to buy back Turf Moor should they stay in the Premier League next season.

Kilby and fellow director John Sullivan acquired the ground in April 2006 through Longside Properties but sold their shares in March this year.

However, the agreements in the contract, which include an initial 100-year lease and buy-back clause at any time, remain unchanged.

“The landlord is Longside Properties but the deal is still in place and it’s still got all the clauses in there that we can buy back whenever we want to, for just about £3.5million it’s gone up to now,” said Kilby at last night's Annual General Meeting.

“It’s the old story though, what do you want to spend your money on?

"Certainly if we stayed up in the Premier League I think that would be high on our agenda because it’s quite an emotional thing.

“But essentially there’s no difference at all to Burnley Football Club.”
