BURNLEY'S away form came under the spotlight again at the weekend following a 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth, but how many teams do boast a good away record in the Premier League?

Even the top two have lost three from eight on their travels, while Liverpool have been beaten in four. Rivals Blackburn Rovers have lost six from seven.

Of course, until the Clarets 'away win' box is ticked, it will be up for debate by fans and pundits alike.

'Can Burnley survive on this away form? Does it put more pressure on them to get results at Turf Moor?' are questions that will be raised.

But there is nothing to suggest away wins are a prerequisite of Premier League survival.

Last season, Stoke managed only two away wins and four draws, yet still finished 12th, and ELEVEN points clear of the drop zone.

In total, 13 of the 20 teams won four or fewer from 19 away games, while in 2007/08, Wigan, Sunderland and Bolton only won twice on the road but still lived to tell the tale.

Burnley must just concentrate on keeping the home fires burning.
