BARNOLDSWICK Town hit rock-bottom Rochdale for six to continue their march up the table.

Town took the lead on 16 minutes when Neil Chapman raced on to a punt upfield from keeper Billy Carrin-gton to crash a shot beyond Mark Canning in the Rochdale goal.

Number two arrived 10 minutes later when Ashley Alderson slipped the ball to Stewart Airdrie inside the area who turned and shot into the far corner.

After a couple near misses, Town went 3-0 up early in the second half when Adam Hayton played Alderson in and his shot was too good for the keeper.

Barlick withdrew Airdrie for Joe Shelmerdine on 62 minutes and his first action was to win a penalty which Clark converted from the spot.

Shelmerdine then set up fellow sub Paul Barrett who headed home to make it 5-0 before Shelmerdine capped off a productive cameo appearance to score from just inside the area to make it 6-0.

Town have now won the last four matches.
